I once read a statement from a resource saying that its ok to have lower scoring blocks, especially as you push the boundaries. This is showing you that you are learning, and as long as you spend the time reviewing the material of the question/block, you are advancing in the material. Stay focused and do not let a bad block kill your vibe!
I can attest to this Phil. I remember studying and doing study blocks. I had days where I was blazing, 90,86, 95, 100, 92 94, etc. I felt like I was ready. THEN, BAMMM 48!!!! It was a very humbling experience. However, it also shows that you have more work to do that there is still some missing pieces that you have to put together.
I like to compare this to training or working out. If you don’t push the boundaries and eventually fail at a rep or getting a 1 rep max, then you really are stunting your own growth. It’s good to get out of your comfort zone and approach material that you are weaker in. In order to be a well rounded person/physician we have to make our weak areas our strength. Analyzing and assaying my weak areas and working to make them my strengths was motivation.
